Mentoring: The Missing Link

MentoringAre their words uplifting and nurturing
The missing linkOr sharp as a knife?
For you have ten-thousand instructorsAre you willing
But not many fathersTo change and be rearranged?
Not many mothersOr do you prefer
Yet many continue to runTo be impotent and lamed?
As did the prodigal sonFor your decision
While they continue to shunTo submit or to run
The necessary pressureWill determine
It takes to processWhen and whether
A precious stoneProgress will come
In the midst of developmentAs Ben Franklin did say
They groan and moanGood intentions count for nothing
Consider however this riddleIt's proper execution that counts
Out of the strongThus mentoring is the route
Comes forth sweetnessTo arise, break barriers and surmount!
Don't be surprisedSo embrace and take hold of it now
We all know what fatigue isThough you may not fully
The spirit indeed is willingKnow exactly how
But the flesh is weakTransformation inside
Now step back a momentPrecedes transformation outside
Before you speakNeither is it always
Consider your present stateA smooth joyous ride
Take a personal inventoryYet when it is all
Evaluate your personal progressSaid and fully done
Then critiqueYou will be handsomely rewarded
Whether or notWith fulfillment and fun!
You've reached your peakMentoring is paramount
Who is your role model?Admittedly it is not always bliss
Who are you allowingBut undoubtedly it is the key
To presently speakTo metamorphosis.
Into your life?
